Terms of Service

By creating an account or using the Situo application ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and GrittyDigital LTD, a company registered in England and Wales ("we", "us", "our").

Situo is a language-learning application that provides audio lessons, custom lesson generation, AI chat assistance, vocabulary lists, and a curated lesson bank. The Service is available via our mobile application and website.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have your parent or guardian's permission. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

You may sign in using a third-party provider (Google or Apple). You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. Notify us immediately at support@grittydigital.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

You must not create accounts on behalf of others without their permission, or use automated means to create accounts.

Access to the full Service requires a paid monthly subscription. Prices are displayed at checkout and on our pricing page. Subscriptions are billed monthly and renew automatically until cancelled.

Payments are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play. By subscribing, you authorise the relevant platform to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. All prices are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of any price change before it takes effect.

New subscribers may be offered a 3-day free trial. Your free trial begins when you complete registration. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will begin automatically and your payment method will be charged.

Free trials are available to new subscribers only. We reserve the right to determine eligibility at our discretion.

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will continue to have access until then.

We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods except where required by applicable law (including UK consumer law). If you believe you are entitled to a refund, contact us at support@grittydigital.com.

All content within the Service — including lesson audio, text, graphics, the Situo name and logo, and software — is owned by or licensed to GrittyDigital LTD and is protected by intellectual property law.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial purposes only. You must not copy, distribute, modify, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

When you create custom lessons or provide input to the Service ("User Content"), you retain ownership of that content. By submitting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, and process it solely to provide and improve the Service.

You are responsible for ensuring your User Content does not infringe any third-party rights or violate applicable law.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
• Transmit any content that is harmful, offensive, or infringing
• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or its content

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GrittyDigital LTD shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

The Service may contain links to or integrations with third-party services (including Apple, Google, and AI providers). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of those services.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you breach these Terms or if we reasonably believe your account poses a risk to us or other users. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
